Adventures of a Koodie Review: Sofi's Crepes
Win a $25 Gift Card for Your Own Savory or Sweet Experience!
Our favorite half-pint food connoisseur and now international celebrity, Eli, is back with his latest review from another local, family friendly restaurant. Let's see what Eli has to say about Sofi's Crepes!
**************
I went to the new Sofi's Crepes. It was located under a shopping center. When we came in, I saw a couple of chairs and a kitchen which covered up most of the restaurant space.
When we came up to the counter, I saw the menu. I saw that there were two types of crepes. They where Savory and Sweet. The savory ones sounded like lunch and dinner and the sweet ones breakfast and dessert. Actually, the sweet ones kind of sounded like a kids meal.
There where savory ones like Crepe Reuben, The BBQ, and BATS, which was Bacon, Avocado, Tomato, and Sour Cream. The sweet ones were like The Bananarama, Nutty Banana, S'mores. I had a Turtle, which was Caramel, Chocolate Chips, and Almonds. I also had a iced tea, and my dad had a iced coffee.
The kitchen had see through glass, so you could see how they where making the crepes. First, they put the batter on top of the heated stone and made sure all of the batter was spread around the heated stone. Next, they waited far the batter to turn solid(which happened faster then I expected). Then, they put on the toppings. Last, they took it of the heated stone, rolled it up, and then put it in aluminum foil and gave it to me.
Before I ate it, since it was still hot, I tried my iced tea. When I first tasted it, it had a big, minty flavor. When I took my first bite of the crepe, I was in a chocolaty wonderland! Later I tasted the crunchy and nuttiness of the almonds. Though I never tasted any of the caramel. When I finished my crepe, my dad had finished his iced coffee, and I realized the iced coffee had ice made of coffee! That gave me a idea. They should have tea ice cubes for there tea. I also think they should expand there space, because as I said before, there isn't a lot of tables and chairs and there kitchen takes up a lot of the room space. I give ****1/2 stars for food and ***1/2 stars for kid friendly. Well, that's all. Bye!
