From the Atlantic’s awe-inspiring sunrises to the colonial city’s jaw-dropping rolling coasters, families visiting the East Coast this summer can have it all with the continued partnership of
Virginia Beach and Busch Gardens® Williamsburg. Build castles in the sand, surf the ocean’s waves and revel in the warm sun while in Virginia Beach, then take on the excitement and adventure of more than 50 rides and attractions at Busch Gardens Williamsburg – all within an hour’s drive.

This August, Virginia Beach and Busch Gardens Williamsburg team up to bring your family closer together for one action-packed vacation with August Adventures. When you book two or more consecutive nights in Virginia Beach from August 1st – 31st, kids will stay free and then play free at Busch Gardens.

Having fun is easy in Virginia Beach. Grab a surfboard, swim through the rolling waves, kayak with dolphins or embark on a sport fishing adventure. Spend lazy days relaxing on the sun-drenched beaches or building the perfect sandcastle. Take a stroll or surrey ride along Virginia Beach’s famous three-mile boardwalk, which features a separate bike path.

Be sure to check out the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center to discover Virginia Beach’s fascinating marine life. Featuring over 800,000 gallons of aquatic exhibits including the newest, Restless Planet, you will see loggerhead turtles, sharks, harbor seals, komodo dragons, an aviary, and more!

A new attraction to Virginia Beach this summer is Cirquesa Dreamquest. People of all ages will be immersed in the excitement of this two-hour extravaganza, which features a childhood magical journey told through high-level aerial acts, acrobatics and breathtaking displays of theatrics.

During the summer months, the resort area comes alive with free nightly entertainment courtesy of Beach Street USA. Beach Street USA is comprised of a diverse array of street performers along the sidewalks of Atlantic Avenue from 17th to 25th Streets. From Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend, between 8 - 11:30 p.m. nightly (midnight on weekends!), visitors can enjoy puppets, bands, jugglers, magicians and more! Additionally, nightly entertainment on five oceanfront stages covers a variety of musical genres by local, regional and national bands, so it’s always easy to find a spot to move and groove.

Then, head up the road to
Busch Gardens to experience thrilling coasters, amazing shows and unforgettable adventure. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is an action-packed, European-themed adventure park with world-class coasters, natural beauty and shared family fun. Be sure to check out Verbolten®, the park’s newest indoor/outdoor roller coaster that features a lightning-fast, multi-sensory dash through dark and foreboding woods and a terrifying 88-foot plunge toward the Rhine River that is sure to leave riders breathless. Children will love Sesame Street® Forest of Fun™ where they can enjoy family-friendly rides or get pictures taken with their favorite Sesame Street characters.

Centrally located on the East Coast, Virginia Beach is situated in the southeastern corner of Virginia and Busch Gardens is a mere one-hour drive northwest from the resort area. With daily flights into the Norfolk International and Newport News/Williamsburg International Airports and a day’s drive from 2/3 the U.S. population, the combined forces of Virginia Beach and Busch Gardens Williamsburg create the perfect vacation getaway for any family.
